TSUUT’INA GUNAHA (LANGUAGE)
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Tsuut’ina Language I.T. position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a database network, supporting systems, programs. Updating system hardware, software, and troubleshooting for system errors. Assisting the Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute in all data security and optimization. The Language I.T. will be responsible for creating and maintaining the Tsuut’ina Language Resource Website. The Language I.T. will create a Tsuut’ina Language Sound File and Resource network database for Tsuut’ina Nation to utilize.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPORTS TO TSUUT’INA GUNAHA INSTITUTE DIRECTOR

• Assist in daily IT support service request including troubleshooting, setup/install printers; email setup and password resets; telephone voicemail setup and password resets; mobile/cell phone account setup
• Experience working/supporting Apple products: desktop, iPad, laptops
• Must be resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment
• Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot technical problems
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems
• Provide support for mobile devices including IOS and Android
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware with 3+ years’ experience in hardware troubleshooting
• Professional customer service skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work by required deadlines, are key requirements in this position
• Perform data backups to ensure all Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute-owned work is saved
• Consult with Tsuut’ina Nation I.T. when needed
• Ensure system optimization for all technology resources
• Must attend regular Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute Staff Meetings
• Must attend regular Tsuut’ina Language Speaker Socials
• Tsuut’ina Language and Culture Training as Directed
• Provide a Monthly/Bi-Weekly Update to Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute Director

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• University or similar desirable or 1-2 years of working experience
• Grade 12 education
• Excellent English language in speech and writing
• Tsuut’ina Language and Culture Knowledge an asset
• Basic understanding in Routing and Switching protocols
• Wireless technologies and protocols know-how desirable
• IT Security related trainings
• Network (Inc. Wireless) related trainings
• Networking maps and document writing
• Customer friendly appearance
• Detail-Oriented,
• Deadline-Oriented,
• Self-motivated,
• Strong work ethic and attitude
• Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work by required deadlines, are key attributes of this individual
