Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Tsuut’ina Language I.T. position is a newly created role for TTGI and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a database network, supporting systems, programs. Updating system hardware, software, and troubleshooting for system errors. Assisting the Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute in all data security and optimization. The Language I.T. will be responsible for creating and maintaining the Tsuut’ina Language Resource Website. The Language I.T. will create a Tsuut’ina Language Sound File and Resource network database for Tsuut’ina Nation to utilize.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Work with Tsuut’ina IT department to resolve IT service support requests: setup/install printers; email setup and password resets; telephone voicemail setup and password resets; mobile/cell phone account setup

• Provide troubleshooting support for mobile devices including IOS and Android

• Perform data backups to ensure all Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute-owned work is saved and secure

• Ensure system optimization for all technology resources

• Must attend regular Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute Staff Meetings

• Must attend regular Tsuut’ina Language Speaker Socials

• Participate in Tsuut’ina Language and Culture Training as Directed

• Provide a Monthly/Bi-Weekly Update to Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University or similar desirable or 1-2 years of working experience

• Grade 12 education

• Tsuut’ina linguistic and cultural knowledge an asset

• Linguistics background an asset

• Software development background an asset

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware with 3+ years’ experience in hardware troubleshooting an asset

• Basic understanding in Routing and Switching protocols

• Experience with wireless technologies and protocols

• IT Security related training

• Network (Inc. Wireless) related training, mapping and documentation

• Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot technical problems

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems

• Experience working/supporting Apple products: desktop, iPad, laptops

• Excellent oral and written communication in English

• Professional customer service skills

• Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work by required deadlines

• Detail oriented, resourceful and able function in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines and producing quality work

• Self-motivated, strong work ethic and attitude with a flexible, adaptable attitude and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments
