**FACILITY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR**

Position Title:      Facility Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to:           Health Director

Department:        Tsuut’ina Health and Wellness Centre

JOB SUMMARY:

In preparation for Accreditation, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the training and daily supervision of the maintenance team in all aspects of maintenance management of the health facility. The successful candidate must possess specialized technical knowledge in building systems with extensive experience and leadership skills that are essential to the role. The supervisor must be able to evaluate key areas in problem solving, training requirements and knowledge of administrative tasks such as managing and scheduling of the maintenance team. The supervisor must also familiarize with government maintenance requirements as described in the Facility Operations and Maintenance manual as well as with FNIHB facility personnel.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Evaluate and develop a training component for the maintenance team.

·  Supervise and train maintenance workers.
·  Review the FNIHB Facility Operations & Maintenance manual with the maintenance team
·  Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work accordingly to include the ·  Sprung Structure and Trailers.
·  Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance with maintenance team.
·  Schedule facility maintenance yearly inspections as requires by FNIHB.
·  Establish a record binder for all work orders and necessary documentations.
·  Establish quality standards and health and safety regulations.
·  Establish and communicate policies, procedures and updates to maintenance team.
·  Maintain all inventory and equipment and ensure proper storage.
·  Supervise preventative maintenance work.
·  Conduct safety inspections with maintenance team and schedule fire drills.
·  Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities with the maintenance team.
·  Establish a check list of daily/weekly/monthly and yearly activities and assign maintenance team as per schedules.
·  Inspect basement and furnace rooms to ensure fire/safety codes are implemented.

COMMUNICATION:

· Ensure that schedules are planned daily every morning with daily planning meetings.

·  Assign each team member with clear instructions
·  Establish a training opportunity for skills development as needed.
·  Implement teambuilding opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

·  Bachelor’s degree is highly advantageous

·  Extensive experience as a maintenance supervisor is essential.
·  Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance.
·  Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
·  Effective budgeting and performance management.
·  Good organizational and leadership skills.
·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Be able to works under pressure and is able to deal with stressful situations.
·  Must have computer skills.
·  Professional certifications are preferred for facility management.
·  Knowledge and understanding of First Nations health systems and cultural norms is an asset.

IN ADDITION:

· If you are a successful candidate you must provide proof of COVID vaccination, or you may select to produce a negative PCR (molecular polymerase chain reaction) or rapid test result, date-stamped within 72 hours of every scheduled work day/shift, on an ongoing basis starting on December 14, 2021. These tests will be paid for by the employee.

·  Employees who are unable to get vaccinated due to medical reasons may request an exemption and accommodation, upon providing written confirmation from a registered physician that they are unable to get vaccinated due to medical reasons.
·  Depending on your position – a Vulnerable Sector check may be required upon application from all provinces, states or countries lived in for the last four years. Vulnerable Sector checks must be completed within the past month.
