**(2) Security Officer**




Department:  Seven Chiefs Sportsplex & Chief Jim Starlight Center

Reports to:     Office Manager or Facility Manager


The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment for Members, tenants, employees and visitors of the Nation. The Security Officer conducts patrols, monitors premises and provides support in ensuring the safety of the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex & Chief Jim Starlight Center



·       Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points

·       Escalates security measures as required by sounding alarms and/or contacting relevant authorities

·       Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; removing trespassers

·       Conducts patrols to ensure secure building access, damages are reported and loitering is controlled

·       Ensures adequate traffic and parking controls by enforcing parking regulations and directing drivers as required

·       Completes security or relevant reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses, and; obtaining signatures

·       Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls

·       Supports the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements and carrying out assigned duties with professionalism

·       Provide a ledger/ on daily activities; entries on all occurrences reported and investigated

·       Provide weekly statistical report to the manager

·       Interacts with Members, employees, tenants and visitors on a regular basis with professionalism and courtesy

·       Screens all visitors and monitors flow of people throughout the building

·       COVID Screens as per COVID Mandate

·       Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

·       Responsible for all security concerns relating to the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex & Chief Jim Starlight Building including the opening and closing of the building

·       Provide afterhours security and alarm response as required

·       Must be available for day, evening and weekend shifts

·       Must be available at all times for emergency situations

·       Must wear full uniforms at all times while on duty



·       Minimum grade 12 or equivalent.

·       Valid Advanced First Aid certification

·       Completion of Alberta Basic Security Training Course preferred

·       Experience in security or related field is a definite asset

·       Exemplary interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required

·       Motivated self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision

·       Willing to take additional security training as required

·       Proven reliability and consistency

·       A valid Alberta driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

·       Must be prepared to provide a complete a CPIC/CYIM Security clearance check.

·       Must be prepared to abide by Tsuut’ina HR policy including drug testing.

·       Must sign an Oath of Confidentiality

·       Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations



·        If you are a successful candidate you must provide proof of COVID vaccination, or you may select to produce a negative PCR (molecular polymerase chain reaction) or rapid test result, date-stamped within 72 hours of every scheduled work day/shift, on an ongoing basis starting on December 14, 2021. These tests will be paid for by the employee.
·        Employees who are unable to get vaccinated due to medical reasons may request an exemption and accommodation, upon providing written confirmation from a registered physician that they are unable to get vaccinated due to medical reasons.

·        Depending on your position – a Vulnerable Sector check may be required upon application from all provinces, states or countries lived in for the last four years. Vulnerable Sector checks must be completed within the past month.
