Biography

Clan Ts’idi Ts’it’onagha (Short Robes) Also knows as Crowchild’s Band.

Leon Littlelight was elected as a Council member of the Tsuut’ina Nation in 2010, and has since served the people for three terms in a total of six years. He is a current holder of the Services portfolio for the 2014-2016 term.

He graduated High School from Bishop Grandin in 1990, and then went on to graduate from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 1994 for Land Management. He continued his studies in Marketing at Mount Royal University in 1998.

Prior to entering into politics he’s worked within the agriculture industry at Littlelight Ranches for forty years. He has also ventured into other industries such as Mobil Oil in 1995.

Mr. Littlelight has volunteered his time coaching various hockey teams throughout his life. His commitment to the people encouraged him to also dedicate his time as a firefighter for the Tsuut’ina Nation Fire Department from 1994-1995.

His accomplishments include numerous awards in the rodeo circuit throughout his whole life. He was acknowledged as an All-Star Goalie and continues to bring pride and honor to his family and Nation.

Leon is an active member on the Rodeo Committee, Chuckwagon Committee, Department of National Defense (DND) Committee, Oversight Committee and he also sits on the Community Futures Treaty Seven (CFT7) board.

He has two daughters, Angelica and Mackenzie, and one grandson, Jayceon.
