Biography

Kelsey Big Plume is a newly elected Council member of the Tsuut’ina Nation since November 2016. She will be a member of Council for the term of 2016-2019. She is the fifth woman leader elected since 1877.

She graduated with a General Studies Diploma from Mount Royal College in 2006. She then went on to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Culture with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Calgary in 2009. She also completed her Alberta Health Promotion Citation from the University of Alberta in 2013.

Prior to entering into politics, she worked for Legislative Procedures Technical Services as a Communication and Facilitation Technician for a year. She also worked at the Health Center as a Community Based Water Monitor for Community Health and also worked as a Health Promoter in the Health Education Program for 6 years during that time.

Mrs. Big Plume has volunteered her time over the years to her children’s extracurricular activities and is very family and community oriented.
